Microsoft FrontPage to Expression Web

The Expression Web team has published a white paper to help FrontPage users make the leap not only to Expression Web but also into the world of Web standards. This white paper:

  • Outlines the differences between FrontPage 2003 and Expression Web.
  • Introduces the Expression Web workspace.
  • Discusses Web standards.
  • Provides information on how to work with your existing site, including FrontPage Web components, themes, and shared borders, in Expression Web.
  • Introduces ASP.NET support and data integration available in Expression Web.

  1. Do you know of any work on a replacement for FPSE? They are awesome for live updating a site but such a pain in the butt to maintain. Ease of use, and speed is key for me and FPSE is both easy and fast compared to WebDAV or FTP. It would be great if you guys coule make something just for the transport protocol and leave out all of the crap (Web Bots, VTI*** folders etc…). If there is not work being done on this I would really appreciate you putting a bug in someone’s ear to get it done.
